This is an out-and-back walk so participants can choose to turn around at any point to customize the length of their walk. This walk will begin in the 5 Senses Garden, then continue on paved walking conditions on the Capital Area Greenbelt. It is accessible for those using a wheelchair. Children are required to be accompanied by a responsible adult. Dogs are welcome if they are on a leash.
This Walk With A Doc program is designed to provide some general health information and a moderately-paced walk. This is a FREE walk, but we ask that you pre-register. This walk is appropriate for all ages and children are welcome to attend but should be accompanied by a responsible adult. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a leash. The program topic and the doctor leading the walk will be announced closer to the program date. All programs are on various educational health and wellness topics but are not meant to replace the healthcare advice of your primary care provider.

This is a rain-or-shine event; however, we will not walk in thunderstorms. We will contact you at the email you use when registering should any weather modifications be necessary. Please check your email one hour before the walk time for any weather updates or cancellations.
Things to Know Before You Go:
- You may encounter slightly uneven terrain along with paved surfaces.
- Dress for the weather and wear comfortable supportive shoes.
- Bring a bottle of water with you to stay hydrated. You may also bring your own snacks.
- You may want to bring a hat, sunglasses, or sunscreen.
- There is free parking available on City Island.
- There are NO RESTROOMS open at this time.
- This route is typically handicapped-accessible; however, certain weather conditions may make this difficult.
