Join Penn State Master Gardeners for a leisurely one-hour stroll at the historic Harrisburg Cemetery Arboretum.

Participants can choose to walk only a portion. This program is for all ages, but children should be accompanied by an adult chaperone. Please check your email 1-hour prior to the start time for any last-minute weather cancellations or updates. This program is part of the Park Rx series of programs sponsored by Highmark Blue Shield

What to know before you go:

  • Dress for the weather
  • Wear comfortable shoes
  • Bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated
  • You may want to wear sunscreen, bug repellent, and a hat

Like every cemetery of its age, the grounds of Harrisburg Cemetery may be uneven or have hidden holes and voids. Also, beware of the monuments on the grounds as some may be unstable or collapse if disturbed. The Harrisburg Cemetery Association prohibits any type of chalking, rubbing, or cleaning of monuments, or the lifting or moving of any monument, stone, or adornment on their grounds.
