ABOUT ABOUT

Take a walk with us on the Capital Area Greenbelt by the 5 Senses Garden. The Walk With A Doc program is designed to provide some general health information and a moderately-paced walk. This is a FREE program, but we ask that you pre-register. This walk is appropriate for all ages and children are welcome to attend but should be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The walk leader will be from the Penn State Health Stroke Prevention Program: Vascular Neurologist, and Co-Medical Director Dr. Raymond Reichwein. He will cover stroke risk factors, Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) symptoms recognition, and when to seek acute medical attention.

About the Garden:

A one-of-a-kind sensory experience started on the Capital Area Greenbelt in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1996 … The Five Senses Gardens has held its ground (and flowers and wildlife) despite torrential floods and environmental adversity, with help from volunteers and the skillful hands of its groundskeepers. Like the butterflies drawn to the variety of plants in each of the gardens, visitors flock to The Gardens to experience the natural sensations, carefully cultivated to challenge the five senses. The miracle of nature fosters a sense of peace and tranquility that has led to therapeutic relief and wonderment for all ages. This program is for all ages, but children should be accompanied by an adult chaperone. More details are available here: http://caga.org/the-trail/garden/
