ABOUT ABOUT

Join us for a 1.25-mile walk at Reservoir Park!

Date: Saturday, May 14, 2022

Time: 9:00 a.m.

This Walk With A Doc program is designed to provide some general health information and a moderately-paced walk around Reservoir Park and the National Civil War Museum including a portion of the Greenbelt. It will be a 1.25-mile loop walking around Reservoir Park and the National Civil War Museum.

The walk is FREE, but we ask that you pre-register so we know how many participants to expect.

The walk leader will be Dr. Kevin Kelly. Dr.Kelly is a Board-Certified Family Physician in Harrisburg, PA. He received his medical degree from the University of Kansas and completed his Residency Program at Baptist Medical Center in Kansas City. He relocated to Harrisburg in 1987 and has been caring for people in all stages of life since then. He is a Master Gardener for Penn State Extension and is an avid landscape photographer. He loves to be outdoors as much as possible and is looking forward to walking and talking with you.

Topic: Health Benefits and Common Myths about Exercise.

This is a rain or shine event.

Additionally, The National Civil War Museum has extended a $10 (normally $14) rate for admission to the Museum following the walk. Vouchers will be provided at the check-in for anyone who would like to tour the museum. Vouchers are valid for normal public museum operating hours on May 14th.

Most of the walk will be flat, but there are some slightly elevated areas. The full walk is estimated to take :30 - :45 minutes based on the pace of the walkers. We encourage you to come out and join the walk for as long or as little as you are able. Those that would like a longer walk, can do a second loop.
