ABOUT ABOUT

Join us for a walk along the Capital Area Greenbelt and the 5 Senses Garden!

Date: Wednesday, June 15

Time: 5:30 - 6:30 PM

This Walk With A Doc program is designed to provide some general health information and a moderately-paced walk on the Capital Area Greenbelt. The walk is FREE, but we ask that you pre-register so we know how many participants to expect.

The walk leader will be Dr. Bob Little. Dr. Little graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 1967. Following a rotating internship in Philadelphia, he joined the Public Health Service and served at an Indian hospital in Browning Montana for two years. While in Montana he had many opportunities to hike in Glacier National Park and he learned to ski with his wife, Bjorg. One of his 3 children was born while he was there. Next, he took a residency in Family Medicine in Syracuse, NY before coming to Harrisburg where he became a founding physician at Hamilton Health Center along with the late Dr. Walter Kirker.

In 1988, along with his 4 partners, he started a private practice on North Progress Ave, Harrisburg. Later he worked for Pinnacle Health for 15 years before retiring from Family Practice in 2020.  Now he enjoys bike riding, hiking, pickleball, and gardening.  And spending time with his wife of 55 years and visiting his 3 children and 6 grandchildren when he can.

Topic: The Importance of Mental Health

This is a rain or shine event.

Most of the walk will be flat, but there are some slightly elevated areas. The full walk is estimated to take approximately 1-hour based on the pace of the walkers. We encourage you to come out and join the walk for as long or as little as you are able.
