ABOUT ABOUT

Join us for a 2.5-mile walk meeting up at Penbrook Community Park and walking on the Greenbelt's Paxtang Parkway. This Walk With A Doc program is designed to provide some general health information and a moderately-paced walk. It will be an out-and-back walk so participants can turn back at any time to customize the length of their walk based on their own individual fitness needs. All ages are welcome to attend, but we do ask that children be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Meeting point: The Penbrook Community Park at 31st Street and Boas Street in Penbrook, at the park pavilion. Parking is available by the pavilion and there is a porta-john-style restroom.

The walk leader will be Dr. Dan Hinnerschitz.

Walk Topic: Tips to manage arthritic conditions conservatively.
He will touch on how daily activity, diet, weight management, and sleep can all help to successfully manage arthritic joints.

About the Presenter:

Dr. Dan Hinnerschitz is a physical therapist with Madden and Gilbert Physical Therapy and a graduate of Lebanon Valley College. He has been practicing in Central PA for 10+ years and specializes in using hands-on treatments to treat musculoskeletal conditions ranging from neck pain and arm pain, shoulder pain and rotator cuff problems, back pain and sciatica, knee pain, arthritis, and many other conditions. In addition, he also enjoys working with the active older community to help with improving balance and decreasing the risk of falling. His primary goal is to help patients keep a healthy and active lifestyle with conservative treatment without having to rely on unnecessary medications, injections, or surgery.

Program topic: will be announced closer to the event date.

The walk will be flat, but there are some slightly elevated areas. The full walk is estimated to take 1-hour based on the pace of the walkers. We encourage you to come out and join the walk for as long or as little as you are able.
