Join us for a morning walk!
Meet at Fort Hunter Hecktown Church and walk the Greenbelt connector from Fort Hunter to Wildwood park. The connector takes you along the Susquehanna River, historical and natural sites.
Please note that this is a roundtrip of 4-miles on paved flat surfaces. Since this is an out and back walk, you can choose to walk only a portion of the connector, then turn around at any point that you would like to customize the length of your walk to your own individual fitness goals.
Here is a list of all dates - join us for as many or as few as you would like:
- Wednesday, October 13
- Wednesday, October 20
- Wednesday, October 27
- Wednesday, November 3 - This date will have a shorter walk of approximately 2 miles.
- Wednesday, November 10
Sneakers or comfortable walking shoes are recommended. We also encourage you to bring along a bottle of water to stay hydrated. You may also want to consider sunscreen and/or insect repellant.
Pre-registration is requested, so we're able to notify you should there be a weather cancellation. Please check your email 1-hour prior to the start time for any last-minute weather cancellations or updates.
This is a Park Rx program sponsored by Highmark Blue Shield.
COVID-19 UPDATE
In the past few weeks, there has been an increase in COVID cases among the unvaccinated (children included). The new variant, Delta, has a high transmission rate. The CDC has elevated the Dauphin County community to be that of a substantial risk of exposure. We strongly encourage our guests to wear masks during programs. While we encourage mask-wearing, we are not mandating it at this time. If you feel ill, we request that you stay at home and not attend the program.
